Asphalt roofs generally last 20-30 years, depending on:

• Quality of materials
• Proper installation
• Regular maintenance
• Weather exposure

By shingle type:

• 3-Tab shingles: 15-20 years
• Architectural shingles (Duration): 25-30 years
• Premium/Designer shingles: 30+ years

Manufacturer Warranty

• Covers defects in the shingles themselves
• Duration shingles: Lifetime limited warranty
• Covers material replacement if shingles fail prematurely
• 50 years non-prorated on most architectural shingles

Workmanship Warranty

• Covers the installation quality
• DirectCrew provides a 5-year workmanship warranty
• Covers issues like leaks from improper installation

Within 5 years (Workmanship Warranty):

• Contact us directly - we'll send our contractor out to assess and fix any installation-related issues at no cost to you
• Covers leaks, flashing issues, and any defects caused by installation

After 5 years (Manufacturer Warranty):

• Contact the shingle manufacturer directly
• We provide all warranty documentation at installation
• Manufacturer covers material defects for the life of the warranty

Who do I call?

1-2 Days Before Install

• Materials delivered and staged at your property
• Dumpster dropped off
• We'll confirm your installation time

Installation Day

1. Crew arrives, sets up ladders and safety equipment
2. Old shingles removed (tear-off)
3. Inspect decking, replace any damaged plywood
4. Install ice & water shield and underlayment
5. Install drip edge along roof perimeter
6. Install new shingles, starting from bottom
7. Install ridge caps and vents
8. Complete cleanup (magnetic sweep for nails!)
9. Final walkthrough with you

Day After Installation

• Dumpster picked up
• We photograph everything for your records
• You'll receive warranty documentation
• We follow up to make sure you're happy!

Before Installation

• Materials delivered within 2 days of booking
• Dumpster dropped at your property

Installation Day

• Most residential roofs: 1 day (8-12 hours)
• Our crews arrive early (7-8am) to maximize daylight

After Installation

• Dumpster picked up the day after install
• Final cleanup and walkthrough

Weather Delays

• We won't install in rain or extreme conditions
• We'll reschedule at no extra cost if weather delays us

Yes, we always do a complete tear-off. Here's why:

While it's technically possible to install a 2nd layer over existing shingles, we don't recommend it because:

• ❌ Weight issues - Extra stress on your roof structure
• ❌ Trapped moisture - Leaks get hidden and cause more damage
• ❌ Insurance problems - Many policies won't cover layered roofs
• ❌ Warranty issues - Manufacturers may void warranties
• ❌ Ventilation problems - Reduces proper airflow
• ❌ Hidden damage - Can't inspect plywood underneath

A proper tear-off lets us inspect the decking, replace any damaged plywood, and ensure your new roof is installed right!

We monitor weather conditions closely and take precautions:

🚗 Outside

• Trim back any branches near the roof if possible

🏠 Inside

• Ensure attic access is clear for inspections
• Remove or cover items in the attic (vibrations can shake loose dust)
• Take down any fragile wall decorations

• Let neighbors know about the work
• Keep kids and pets away from the work area
• We'll handle protecting your landscaping with tarps!

We take precautionary measures to protect your property, landscaping, and even your neighbors' homes during the project.

Yes, we handle everything.

New Jersey requires permits for roof replacement. Our contractors:

• ✓ Pull all necessary permits before work begins
• ✓ Schedule required inspections
• ✓ Ensure all work meets local building codes
• ✓ Provide permit documentation for your records

Permit costs are included in your quote - no surprises.

Yes! Dumpster rental and disposal is included in your quote.

• Dumpster delivered 1-2 days before installation
• Placed in your driveway (we'll confirm best location)
• All old shingles and debris go in the dumpster
• Picked up the day after installation
• We do a final cleanup including magnetic sweep for any stray nails

You don't need to arrange anything - it's all handled.

If your roof is 20+ years old and showing these signs, it's time to consider replacement!

Simple 2-Part Payment

1. 50% deposit - Due when you sign the contract to reserve your installation date and order materials
2. 50% final payment - Due upon completion and your satisfaction

• Financing (if applicable)

You'll never pay the final balance until the job is done and you're happy with the work.

We're currently working on financing partnerships to offer affordable monthly payment options.

In the meantime, many homeowners use:

Before Materials Are Ordered:

Full refund of your deposit if you cancel before we order materials (typically within 24-48 hours of signing).

After Materials Are Ordered:

If you cancel after materials are ordered, you're responsible for the cost of materials already purchased. We'll provide receipts and can help you sell unused materials if needed.

After Installation:

If you're not satisfied with the work, we'll make it right before collecting final payment. Our goal is your complete satisfaction.
